The journey continues with a drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. Here, you'll complete immigration formalities before checking into your hotel. Thimphu offers a fascinating blend of traditional Bhutanese culture and modernity. In the evening, visit the Tashichho Dzong, a majestic fortress that serves as the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body.
Explore Thimphu’s highlights on the following day, including the enormous Buddha Dordenma statue at Kuensel Phodrang, the National Memorial Chorten, and the Folk Heritage Museum. After breakfast, proceed toward Punakha. Enroute, halt at Dochu La - A mountain pass leading further into the Punakha Valley. It offers a stunning 360 degree panoramic view of Eastern Himalayan mountain ranges. The view is especially scenic on clear, winter days with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 chortens gracing the mountain pass. Enjoy lunch at newly open restaurant Druk Wangyel Cafe and visit Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lakhang on your way to Punakha.Overnight stay in Punakha. Dochula Pass: is the most known pass in the Bhutan. It is mostly covered with white clouds, where on a clear day you can see spectacular view of the mighty Himalayas mountain ranges. The 108 Chortens at the Dochula pass gives the passer the beauty of the fresh and high altitude vegetation around, Bhutan being the Buddhist country the construction of 108 Druk Wangyal Khangzang Chortens brings multi fold merit to all sentient beings. After breakfast, check out of your hotel and proceed to Paro.After checking into your hotel, you would proceed for a sightseeing tour of Paro which would include the following places Drukgyel Dzong – Ruins of an old fortress in Paro, Kyichu Lakhang – Famous Monastery in Paro, Ta Dzong – National Musuem of Bhutan. Overnight stay in Paro. Paro: The Paro valley extends from the confluence of the Paro Chhu and the Wang Chhu rivers at Chuzom upto Mt. Jomolhari at the Tibetan border to the North. This picturesque region is one of the widest valleys in the kingdom and is covered in fertile rice fields and has a beautiful, crystalline river meandering down the valley.
After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Taktsang Monastery – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour will be optional since it requires 2-3 hours trekking to reach the Monastery. Ponies are available for hire. Visit Paro handicraft market during evening time. Overnight stay in Paro.
After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Chele La pass (12,200ft) - The highest motorable point in Bhutan.(Optional tour) On a clear day one can get a breathtaking view of Mt.Jhomolhari (23,996 ft the second highest peak of Bhutan) and other Himalayan giants. Overnight stay in Haa Valley.
After breakfast visit Lhakhang Nagpo – Black Temple and the Lhakhang Karpo – White temples are also a popular attraction here.
